W. J. Pereboom Dies in Oklahoma

William J. Pereboom, who resided in Eagle township near Hawarden from 1894 to 1910 and near Alcester from 1914 to 1919, died September 26 at Enid, Okla., after a five-year illness.

He was born December 14, 1883, in Nokomis, Ill., and moved with his parents from Illinois to Iowa in 1894.

He married Lena Johnson in 1910 at Lahoma, Okla. Prior to 1921 Mr. Pereboom was engaged in farming in Iowa. Prom 1922 until 1940, he was employed as manager of the Farmers Cooperative elevator at Lahoma. From 1942 until 1952, he was employed in the assessor's office in Enid.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church.

Survivors are the widow; two sons, Erwin Pereboom of Goodland, Kan., and Orville Pereboom of Oklahoma City; five daughters, Evelyn Brunken of Oklahoma City, Viola Rauh of Alva, Okla., Lucille Pereboom of Oklahoma City, Ruth Krienkc of Lahoma, and Verda Wedel of Enid. One son preceded him in death.

Also surviving arc four brothers, H.H. of Enid, G.F. of Blackwell, H. W. of Orange City, and A. E. of Hawarden; three sisters, Mrs. Dora Johnson of Enid, Ann Vosburg of Inyokern, Calif., and Margaret Edwards of Des Moines, and 20 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Enid Sept. 28.
