Funeral services will be held at the Reformed church at Middleburg at 1:30 today for Johannas H. Van Oort, 78, retired farmer and a resident of Middleburg vicinity for nearly 40 years, who died at his home in Middleburg about 9:30 a.m. Monday of a stroke. The attack came while Mr. Van Oort was in Church Sunday morning. He passed into a coma shortly after he was returned to his home.

Services will be conducted at the family home at 1 p.m., immediately preceding the church services. The Rev. Wm. Kolenbrander will officiate. Burial will be made in the Middleburg cemetery. Van Etten funeral home of Orange City is in charge of funeral arrangement.

Mr. Van Oort was born Jan. 17, 1878 at Newkirk, Iowa. With the exception of three years residence at Leota, Minn., he resided all his life in Northwestern, Iowa, and had lived in the Vicinity of Middleburg since 1917. He operated a farm one mile north of Middleburg for many years prior to his retirement a few years ago.

Survivors include his Widow, Mrs.Anna nee Baartman of Middleburg; Two sons Henry of Doon and Peter of Grand Rapids, Mich, four daughter, Mrs. Chas Aardema of Hull, Mrs. Frank Vander Wilt of Orange City, Mrs. Gerrit Grevengoed of Orange City, Mrs. Lawrence Wielinga of Hull; one brother Cornelius of Rock Valley; 23 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren
