Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for Mrs. John Van Oort, 87, at the Sheldon Bethel Reformed Church with Rev. Leedsma officiating. Mrs. Van Oort passed away at the Sheldon hospital, Thursday, January 19.

Mrs. Nan Oort, nee Hendrika Hofmeyer, was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman H. Hofmeyer, formerly of Hospers.

Survivors are the children, Mrs. George Urban of Sheldon, Mrs. Fred Wilts and Herman of Archer, Henry of Ashton, Wayne of Roseburg, Oregon, and John of Fulda, Minnesota; 26 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Gertie Vander Schaaf and Mrs. Mike Foreman of Hospers; four brothers, John of Sanborn, George of Sibley, William of Hospers and Jake of Orange City.

Preceded her in death are four sisters, Mrs. Abe Brinkhulis, Nettie Hofmeyer, Mrs. G. J. Sneltjes, and Mrs. Martin Boersma; two brothers, Dick and Gerrit Hofmeyer.
