From the Hawarden Independent, Thursday, January 4, 1968:

Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Satterlee received word Wednesday of the death of their uncle, Fletcher Satterlee, at Litchville, N.D. Mr. F. Satterlee had celebrated his 101st birthday in October of this past year.

Poster's note: Fletcher Satterlee was the son of Arabella (Peebles) and John Wesley Satterlee and a brother to R.R. (Roland) Satterlee's father, Loren D. Satterlee. Fletcher was raised in the Ireton vicinity and was a frequent visitor to see his mother and other relatives. He visited Ireton as late as 1963 when he was 96 years old. According to information on ancestry.com, he was born on September 25, 1866 in Wisconsin and died on December 26, 1967. He married Marion Featherstone and was the father of four children: Francis Wesley Satterlee, Herbert Roderick Satterlee, Eleanor Satterlee, and Arthur Fletcher Satterlee. Fletcher's full name was: Philanders Fletcher Satterlee.
