Marietta Van Oort, 83, Doon, Iowa, died Saturday, August 11, 1990 in Sioux Center Community Hospital, Sioux Center, Iowa.

Marietta Jacobsma was born June 25, 1907, in Orange City, Iowa. She married Henry Van Oort February 11, 1932, in Middleburg, Iowa. They farmed near Middleburg until 1947 and then farmed near Doon. In 1970 they retired and moved into Doon. Her husband preceded her in death May 13, 1989.

Survivors include two sons; Joawn and Vernon, both of Doon; two daughters; Mrs. Martin (Joy) DeWit, Orange City, Iowa; and Mrs. Gerald (Shirley) Rens, Hull, Iowa; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 10:30 A. M. Tuesday, August 14 in the Protestant Reformed Church, Doon, Iowa, with burial in Hillside Cemetery, Doon. Visitation was held in the Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley, Iowa.
