Henry Van Oort, 86, Doon, died Saturday, May 13, 1989 in the Sioux Center, Iowa, Community Hospital.

He was born December 28, 1902, in Middleburg, Iowa, and later attended rural schools.He married Marietta Jacobsma on February 11, 1932, in Middleburg until 1947, when they moved to a farm near Doon. They retired to Doon in 1970.

Survivors include his wife; two sons; Joawn and Vernon, both of Doon; two daughters; Mrs. Martin(Joy) De Wit, Orange City, Iowa; and Gerald (Shirley) Rens, Hull, Iowa; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother , Peter, Sanborn, Iowa; and two sisters; Mrs. Gerrit (Winnie) Grevengood, Hull; and Mrs. Lawrence (Mathilda) Wielenga, Sioux Center.

Services were held at 10:30 A. M. Tuesday in the Protestant Reformed Church, Doon, with burial in Hillside Cemetery.Visitation was held at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.
