Pearl Tiedeman, 82, of Hull died Friday, July 20, 2001, at Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
A funeral service was held on Monday, July 23, at 10:30 A. M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Hull. The Rev. Gerald Aamot officiated. Burial followed at the church cemetery under the direction of Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.

Pearl Margaret was born January 21, 1919, at Hull, the daughter of Barney and Hattie (Brunsting) Westra. She was baptized in her youth and confirmed in 1937.On October 7, 1936, she married Lawrence Tiedeman at Hull. They farmed northeast of Hull until his unexpected death on November 25, 1968, at Hull.

In 1969, Pearl moved into Hull, where she was employed at DeJong and Vander Schaaf Hardware and the Boyden-Hull School. She became a resident of Valley Manor in Rock Valley in 1998.

Mrs. Tiedeman was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was active in the Ladies Aid and the church choir. She also served as a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed knitting, Crocheting and quilting with her friends and she enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters and four sons and their spouses, Darlene and Harold A. Sohl of Hull, Harold and Margery Tiedeman of Pocahantos, Carol and Ron Flynn of Mesa, Arizona, Ronald and Phyllis Tiedeman of Hull, Leroy and Christie Tiedeman of Hull and James and Kim Tiedeman of Orange City; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, John DeBoer; and two sister-in-law, Marge Westra and Angeline Tiedeman.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Christopher Sheehan; three sisters and two brothers.
