From a Sioux City Journal clipping of unknown date (approximately January 27, 1965 -- clipping is marked with a death date of January 25, 1965, a Monday):

MRS. ETTA EHLERS

LEMARS, Iowa—Special: Funeral services for Mrs. Etta Ehlers, 67, LeMars, who died Monday at a hospital here after a long illness, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Lowell Boettcher will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery under direction of the Mauer Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ehlers, the former Etta Johnson, was born Feb. 9, 1897, near LeMars. She was married to Harry A. Ehlers Dec. 2, 1915, at Craig, Iowa. They farmed in the Ireton-Craig area for 23 years, moving to LeMars in 1943.

Survivors include the widower; a son, Luvern of Sioux City; four brothers, Henry Johnson of Kansas City, Mike Johnson of LeMars, George Johnson of Craig, and Ervin Johnson of Ireton; five sisters, Mrs. Anna Bartlett of Centerville, S.D., Mrs. Lena Ettleman of North Hollywood, Calif., Mrs. Marie Kluter of Chester, S.D., Mrs. Tillie Kelly of Sioux City, and Mrs. Verna Hartmann of California, and three grandsons.

Poster's note: In the 1925 Iowa census, Etta Ehlers gives her parents' names as Anna (Dirks) and Charles G. Johnson. This is confirmed by her father's obituary in the October 10, 1949 LeMars Globe Post.
