Rural Maurice Resident Dies

Funeral services for Silas Siege, 54, rural Sherman township lifetime resident, who died Sunday at a Le Mars hospital following an illness of several months, were, held at 2 o'clock Wednesday at St John's Lutheran church, rural Ireton. Rev. Paul Fricdrich officiated with burial in the church cemetery.

Mr. Siege was born January 26, 1910 in rural Maurice in which vicinity ho farmed his entire life.

He married Luella Vander Hamm of Ireton on July 9, 1936, in Reading township.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. John Boyd of Maurice: two sons, Larry and Leo, both of Maurice; three sisters, Miss Selma Siege of rural Maurice, Mrs. Sidonia Onken of Ireton, and Mrs. Sylvia Chapman of rural Lo Mars, and four grandchildren.

Poster's note: Date of death was March 8, 1964. According to the 1925 Iowa census and his mother's 1945 obituary, Silas Siege was the son of Wilhelmine nee Kruckenberg and Henry Siege.
