MRS. HENRY SIEGE

Maurice: Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at St John's Lutheran church in Reading Township, southwest of Maurice, for Mrs. Henry Siege, who passed away February 20 at 4:30 a.m. at the Le Mars Hospital. She had been taken there the preceding Saturday, ill with pneumonia and other complications. She had been an invalid for two years because of a hip fracture. She was cared for at the home of her daughter, Selma.

Wilhelmina Siege, nee Kruckenburg, was born at Lowden, Iowa on April 1, 1873, and confirmed by Rev. Brammar at Lowden, Iowa on April 3, 1887. She lived at Lowden until her marriage on May 26, 1898 to Henry Siege at Lowden. The marriage was performed by Rev. Brammer. The couple came to Maurice, and she lived on the same farm until her death.

She is survived by her husband and five children, namely Selma and Sylvester at home, Sidonia (Mrs. Andy Onken) of Ireton, Silas of Maurice, and Sylvia (Mrs. Marion Chapman) of Le Mars. There are nine grandchildren. Also one brother, George Kruckenburg of Lowden and one sister, Mrs. Caroline Nieting of Pomeroy, Iowa.

She was a devoted mother and faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church, a charter member of the Ladies Guild. Memorial Funds of $90 were given for charitable organizations in her memory.

Rev. C. D. Eifert conducted the services, and burial was made in Reading Township cemetery. The pallbearers were six nephews, Paul Kruckenburg, Walter Sittler, Henry Nieting, Will Schwier, Elmer Franke and Lloyd Mueller.

Relatives from a distance attending the funeral were Mrs. Caroline Nieting and daughter Lydia, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nieting and Mrs. Martha Roogge of Pomeroy, Paul Kruckenburg and daughter Leanne of Lowden, Henry Rennig of Arlington Heights, Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lehrman, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lehrman and Mrs. Minnie Lehrman of Stanwood, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sittler, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stromberg, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kruckenburg and children, Chris Kruckenburg, Mr. and Mrs. Memmig, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Peters, Mrs. Emelia Burkhart, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wright, all of Hartley, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Sittler of Arnolds Park, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Green of Spencer, Mrs. Henry Bremer, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer De Raad of Ocheyedan, Mrs. Clara Schwier and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Petersen, Mr. and Mrs. William Lehrman, all of Sioux City, and Oscar Lehrman of Spencer, S. D., Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Vander Hamm of Sheldon and many from Le Mars Ireton, Struble and Maurice.
