Orville L. Dorschner, 64, of Orange City, former Sioux County engineer, died Sunday, Jan. 24 after arrival at a hospital in Mountain View, Calif.

Services were at 1:30pm, Thursday in the American Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Dr. Calvin Rynbrandt officated. Burial was in the West Lawn Cemetery. Family visitation was from 7 to 8:30pm Wednesday in the Van Etten-Oolman Funeral Home.

Mr. Dorschner was born Dec. 24, 1917, at Jackson Minn. He moved to Primghar in 1935 and in July of 1941 became employed in the Sioux County engineer's office.

He married Darleen Potter Sept. 17, 1941, at Clarion. After serving in the Armed Forces during World War II, he returned to Orange City and the engineer's office where he later became assistant county engineer. In 1962, was named county engineer, retiring in 1979 after 39 years of service. During 1980 he assisted in the Osceola County Engineer's office.

Mr. Dorschner was a member of the American Reformed Church and Orange City Lyons Club.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Sgt. Kim of Eriangen, Germany, and Jay of Hawthorne, Calif.; one brother, Reg of Minneapolis, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Gladyce Schumann and Mrs. Arlene Flynn, both of Madison Wis. and five grandchildren.
