From the September 28, 1961 Hawarden Independent:

Mrs. L. D. Satterlee, 86, wife of Ireton's long time mortician, died Thursday night at her home.

She was born August 14, 1875, at Reeseville, Wis. As a child she lived in Kansas and Missouri and came to Sioux county 66 years ago.

On April 29, 1896, she was married to L. D. Satterlee at Orange City and they lived in Ireton since that time.

She was a member of the Methodist church and the W. S. C. S. of the church. She was a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

On April 29, 1961 she and her husband celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a family dinner.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Wylie of Marcus and Roland of Ireton; two daughters, Fern, Mrs. Stanley Hooper of Hartley and Madge, Mrs. Don Montgomery of North Hollywood, Calif.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Lena Stellwagen of Monette, Mo.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Ireton Methodist church with Rev. Fritz Springis officiating.

Mrs. Arthur Bartlett, organist, accompanied the soloist, Wilbur Vreeman, as he sang "The Lord's Prayer." Casket bearers were Robert Fritz, Pete Eisma, Andy Mars, Fred Schuette, G. T. Juffer and Otis Wandling.

Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery under the direction of the Barnard Funeral home of Hawarden.

Poster's note: In the 1925 Iowa census, Hulda gives her parents names as Charlotte (Voth) and Ludwig Klingsporn.
