Funeral services for Mr. Cornelius Van Muyden of Sioux Center will be held this afternoon, October 21, at 1 o’clock at the home and 1:30 at the First Reformed Church with Rev. J. Roggen officiating. Pall bearers will be Jack Oliver, Milo Te Grotenhuis, Harold Kleinwolterink, Gordon Van Wyhe, Duane Van Wyhe and Ordean Webert.

Burial will be in the Sioux Center Community Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Vander Ploeg’s Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

Mr. Cornelius Van Muyden passed away early Tuesday morning at the age of 62 years, 11 months, and 15 days. Mr. Van Muyden was born in the Netherlands and came to America at the age of 11 days. On January 8, 1913, he was united in marriage to Anna Bonnema, who now survives as well as his eight children, Peter; Lester; Marvin; Milton; Margaret, Mrs. Glen Brinkhuis; Ethel; Leona, Mrs. John Muder and Glen.

He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and the following sisters and brothers; Dora, Mrs. Claus Velthone; Anna, Mrs. Lammert Van Wyhe; Susan, Mrs. Balney Okkema; Martha, Mrs. Albert Vande Sluis; Marie, Mrs. Sherman French and Leonard. One sister Hattie, Mrs. Dick Van Wyhe, preceded him in death as well as five children who died in infancy. Mr Van Muyden spent most of his life in Sioux Center except a few years which were spent near Sheldon and Hawarden. Mr. Van Muyden passing is mourned by a host of relatives and friends.
