Services Today for Mrs. Coats

Funeral services for Mrs. Lester Coats, 60, lifetime resident of the Ireton vicinity who died at the Sacred Heart hospital in Le Mars Monday morning, will be held this afternoon (Thursday) at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Ireton, Rev. Paul Friedrich officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Coats, an only child of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Kluter, was born January 4, 1901, at Ireton. She married Lester Wayne Coats October 16, 1923.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church at Ireton.

Survivors include the widower; two sons, Gerald Coats of Milbrae Calif., and Donald Coats of Vermillion; a daughter, Joyce, Mrs. Glenn White of San Francisco, and five grandchildren.

Poster's note: Mrs. Coats was nee Viola Bertha Kluter, daughter of Linda Christina (Hennrich) and William John Kluter. Date of death was Monday, August 7, 1961. Obituary in Sioux Center News noted a one week illness.

Viola was the granddaughter of two Sioux County pioneer (1871-1872) Lutheran families: Matilda (Twillman) and Henry Kluter; and Henrietta (Kukuk) and Charles Hennrich.
