Grace Van Middendorp, 86, of Rock Valley died Tuesday, April 13, at Valley Manor Nursing Home in Rock Valley.

Services were at 2 P. M. Friday, April 16, at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley with the Rev. John den Hoed officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery.

The former Grace Roozenboom was born February 2, 1907, in Barneveld, The Netherlands, the daughter of Willem and Gysbertja (De Visser) Roozenboom. She came to the United States at age 14. She married John Van Middendorp March 23, 1925, at Rock Rapids. The couple farmed near Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Rock Valley until their retirement in 1958, when they moved into Rock Valley. He died September 16, 1974, and she moved to Valley Manor February 12, 1993.

Survivors include three sons, John Jr. and his wife Lila of Brookings, Oregon, Marion of Bakersfield, California, and Alvin and his wife Henrietta of Grand Rapids, Michigan; three daughters, Grace Olson of Belle Fourche, South Dakota, Jeanette and her husband Junior Bailey of Morley, Michigan, and Ester Van Middendorp of Tempe, Arizona; a brother, John Roozenboom of Hayward, Minnesota; a sister, Gertie Van Grootheest of Rock Valley; 29 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
