Catherine A. Vander Berg

Mrs. Catherine Vander Berg, age 91, of Orange City, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 1994 at the Orange City Hospital.

Catherine Ada was born Aug. 23, 1902 at Orange City, the daughter of William and Antoinette (Vander Gijp) Rozeboom. She was raised at Orange City where she graduated from Northwestern Academy.

On Sept. 18, 1925, she married Albert A. Vander Berg at Orange City. They lived at Spencer and Rock Valley before settling at Orange City in 1943. Mr. Vander Berg died March 14, 1984 at Orange City.

In April of 1993, Mrs. Vander Berg became a resident of the Heritage House in Orange City.

She was a member of the Trinity Reformed Church of Orange City and had been involved in the womens organizations of the church.

Survivors include her two daughters and their husbands, Helen Rae and Audley De Graaf of Hartley, and Antoinette and Bruce Tyndall of Guilford, Conn.; a son and his wife, Paul and Cindy Vander Berg of Fredericksburg, Va.; seven grandchildren, Ann and her husband Randal Wubbels, Sue and her husband Tom Holmes, Mary De Graaf, Suzanne and her husband Sandy Brown, Juliet and her husband Ki Chon, Daniel Vander Berg, and Michael Vander Berg; three great-grandsons, Aaron and Jarrod Wubbels and Lucas Holmes; and a brother, Dr. Lloyd Rozeboom of Baltimore, Md.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Jan. 14 at the Trinity Reformed Church. The Rev. Donald DcGlopper officiated.

Interment followed at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home in Orange City.
