Neal Van Middendorp, 80, of Doon, died Saturday, November 15, 1986, in a Rock Rapids Hospital.

Services were held Tuesday, November 18 in the First Reformed Church in Doon. The Rev. Norman Menning officiated. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery at Doon.

Mr. Van Middendorp was born July 25, 1906, in The Netherlands and came to the United States and to the Sioux Center area in 1916. He married Gertie DeBoer February 22, 1933, in Rock Valley. The couple farmed in the Doon and Alvord areas until 1979 when they retired and moved into Doon.

Mr. Van Middendorp was a member and past deacon of the First Reformed Church.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, John and Edwin, both of Rock Rapids and Vernon of Doon; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Harriet) Postma of Doon and Mrs. Arnold (Janice) Post of Rock Valley; two brothers, Teunis of Rock Valley and John Henry, of Verndale, Minnesota; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
