Mrs. Fred (Kathryn) Vanderham, 83, of Ireton died Monday, Nov. 25, in a care center in Hawarden.

Services were ar 10:30am Friday, Nov. 29, in St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Ireton. The Rev. Nathan Brandt officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Ireton. A prayer service was held Thursday, in the Dow Funeral Home in Ireton.

Mrs. Vanderham, the former Kathryn Davis, was born March 3, 1902, in Platte, S.D. She married Fred Vanderham April 27, 1922, in Platte. They farmed in the Platte area, moved to Plymouth County, Iowa in 1940, and in 1942, to the Maurice area. They retired in 1965 and moved to Ireton. He died Jan. 23, 1985.

Mrs. Vanderham was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and its Ladies Guild.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Shirley) Jacobsen of Ireton; a son, Marvin of Merrill; three sisters, Mrs. Vera McGinnis of Rapid City, S.D., Mrs. Matt (Ella) Peters of Vermillion, S.D., and Mrs. Myrtle Tabberg of Watertown, S.D.; two brothers, Paul of Orangevale, Calif., and John of Hood River, Ore., seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
