Fred M. Vanderham, 88, Ireton died Wednesday, January 23, in a hospital in Hawarden.

Services were at 2:30pm Saturday in St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Ireton. The Rev. Nathan Brandt officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Ireton. A prayer service was held at 7:30pm of Friday in the Dow Funeral Home in Ireton.

Mr. Vanderham was born April 6, 1896 at Onslo. He moved to Platte, S.D. with his parents in 1909. He married Kathryn Davis April 27, 1922 at Platte. They moved to Plymouth County in 1940 and to a farm near Maurice in 1942. They retired in 1965 and moved to Ireton.

Mr. Vanderham was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Shirley) Jacobsen of Ireton; one son, Marvin of Merril; one sister, Miss Emma of Platte; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
