Mrs. Jennie Vander Griend, 93, of Sioux Center, died Wednesday Sept. 7 at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

Services were held Saturday in the Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center. Rev. Duane Tinklenberg officiated. Burial was in Memory Gardens under direction of the Memorial Funeral Home.

Mrs. Vander Griend was born Dec. 28, 1894 in Sioux Center to Mr. and Mrs. John Rens. She attended the West Branch Township School. On March 2, 1917 she married Marinus Vander Griend at Middleburg. They farmed north of Orange City. In 1949 they retired to Sioux Center, Mr. Vande Griend died March 24, 1972.

She was a member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center.

She is survived by two daughters; Mrs. Henry (Nellie) Vander Zandschulp of Orange City and Mrs. Roy (Jeanette) Vanden Hul of Orange City; two brothers, Bert Rens of Sheldon and Richard Rens of Sioux Center; two sisters, Hermina Bleyenberg of Sioux Center and Jeanette Van Middendorp of Verndale, Minn.; 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Tim and Gerrit; one sister, Ella Vande Griend and a son-in-law, Henry Vande Zandschulp.
