Mrs. Steven G. Vanden Brink, 83, Boyden, died Wednesday in a retirement home in Sheldon.

Services were held Saturday in the United Presbyterian Church at Boyden. The Rev. Daniel P. Myers officiated. Burial in Sheridan Township Cemetery at Boyden under direction of the Kraai Funeral Home of Hull.

Mrs. Vanden Brink, the former Gertrude M. Rowenhorst, was born Jan. 28, 1896, in Boyden and she was a lifelong Boyden resident.

She was married April 16, 1919, at Boyden. Mrs. Vanden Brink died in December of 1956.

She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and the United Presbyterian Women's Organization. She was a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary at Boyden.

She moved to the retirement home in July 1978.

Survivors include a son, Logan of Boyden; a daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Dorothy) Diekevers of Hull; a sister, Mrs. R.E. (Marie) Munsey of Simi Valley, Calif.; a brother, Nic of Sheldon; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
