Funeral services were held for William Davelaar, 73, of Rock Valley, Thursday, February 8, in the Porter Funeral Home with Rev. J. Van Zweden of the Netherlands Reformed Church officiating. Burial was held in the Valley View Cemetery.

He passed away February 5 at the Sioux Center Hospital. He was born April 18, 1888, in the Netherlands and came to the United States in 1913 and lived in Rock Valley all his life. He was married to Nellie (Rus) Davelaar. She died in 1958.

He is survived by three sons Willie and Peter of Rock Valley and Cornie of Ireton; two brothers, Everett of Rock Valley and Gerrit in the Netherlands.
