Obituary

The following obituary was read by Rev. Zenk at the services:

Mrs. Anna Sohl, nee Kruse, was; born at Stade Hanover, Germany on August 2, 1873. She was received into the large family of believers by her baptism in early infancy. She left Germany when but 7 years old and came with her parents and brothers to the States, the family taking residence near Boyden, Iowa. Her life was spent in the Boyden and Hull community. After due preparation she was confirmed in the Lutheran faith on April 3, 1887 in St. John's church, Boyden by Rev. Wm. Baetke.

Spending her youthful years in the parental home, she entered into marriage with Mr. Henry Wolter on February 23, 1893. The young couple resided on a farm at Boyden. Four children were born to this union, one of which passed on la early infancy.

Mrs. Sohl became a sorrowing widow on July 15, 1901, when her husband passed on leaving her with three children. She carried on as best she could, hoping for better days to come again.

In the year 1904 she again entered marriage with Mr. Wm. Sohl (the wedding was on October 19, 1904). The family then took up residence near Hull and on June 29, 1923 she again mourned the loss of her husband and she then took up residence with her children until taken by death.

Poster's note: Obituary in Sioux County Index (Hull) ends in last sentence with "residence" but I added "with her children until taken by death" from the obituary in the Sioux County Capital of July 21, 1938 so that the obituary is complete.
