Mrs. John Van Oosbree, 81, of Sioux Center, died Friday, December 26, in a hospital in Sioux Center.

Services were held at 10:30 A. M. Monday in the First Christian Reformed Church. The Rev. B. J. Haan officiated. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery under direction of the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

Mrs. Van Oosbree, the former Marie Van Velzen, was born January 22, 1899, in the Netherlands. She came to the United States in 1915.

She was married December 12, 1917, at Middleburg. They lived in Orange City before moving to Sioux Center in 1920. Mr. Van Oosbree died in 1967.

Survivors include three sons, Chris J. of Emmetsburg, Corie of Hometown, Illinois, and John C. Jr. of Grand Island, Nebraska; three daughters, Mrs. William (Ann) Stoub of Palso Park, Illinois, Mrs. Charley (Johanna) Gortesma of Grangeville, Idaho, and Mrs. Jim (Marie) Boogard of Rock Valley; 41 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Martha Eshuis and Mrs. Cornelia Jansen, both of Sioux Center.
