Friends received word of the death of John Tweedy, which took place at the Odd Fellows home in Mason City one day last week. He was born in 1867 and married Della Derr. He left Ireton several years ago, going to Pierson, Iowa, where for years he was in charge of an elevator. He was taken ill a few weeks ago and friends cared for him but deemed it best that he go to the home in Mason City. His wife died while the family resided in Ireton. His son Linfred married the daughter of P. Alvine and lives in California. Mr. Tweedy had many friends in Ireton even though he left here nearly fifteen years ago.
