Elizabeth “Betty” Van Marel, 75, of Orange City died Saturday, December 21, in the hospital in Orange City.

Services were at 1:30 P. M. Tuesday, December 24, in the American Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Marlin Vander Wilt officiated. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery. Family visitation was Monday, in the Van Etten-Oolman Funeral Home.

Mrs. Van Marel, the former Elizabeth Van Horssen, was born October 19, 1910, at Maurice. She married Arie Van Marel February 16, 1932, at Maurice. Since 1936 they had made their home in Orange City. She was office manager for Sioux Vet’s Clinic in Orange City and later the Orange City Veterinary Clinic, retiring in 1984.

Mrs. Van Marel was a member of the American Reformed Church and Reformed Church Women.

Survivors include her husband; a brother, Garrie of Orange City; a sister, Mrs. Tony (Margaret) Cleveringa of Orange City; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
