Raymond Lester Doherty, 87, of Rock Valley, died Saturday, October 31 in a hospital at Rock Valley.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic church at Rock Valley. The Revs. William Wingert and John Doherty officiated. Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery at Alvord. The rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Monday in the Porter Funeral Home at Rock Valley.

Mr. Doherty was born June 24, 1894 at Maurice.

He married Mary Agnes Spain April 17, 1918, at Alvord. He was a carpenter and lived in Rock Valley since 1922.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, John of Brandon, S.D., and Raymond of Peterson; two daughters, Mrs. Irene Kosters of Rock Valley and Mrs. Lee (Frances) Gacke of Sioux Falls, S.D.; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
