Daniel J. Doherty

Daniel J. Doherty, 71, of Bellevue, NE passed away December 1, 2003.

Dan was the son of Murat and Hazel Doherty, born and raised in the Alton area.

Dan joined the USAF in 1951, retired May 31, 1979 after 28 years as SMSGT.

Dan is survived by wife Shirley, son Patrick Doherty of Goldsboro, NC, stepsons Landon Dingman of Council Bluffs, IA and Todd Dingman of Dallas, TX, 3 grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren.

Funeral Service was Thursday, December 4, 2003 at Bellevue, NE, with private interment later in St. Mary's Cemetery, Alton.

Posters note: Olson was the maiden name of Dan's mother, Hazel Doherty (taken from her obituary). The Sioux County Capital of December 1, 2003 adds the following details: Dan graduated from St. Mary's Academy. Burial of cremains was scheduled for 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 28 at St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery in Alton. In addition to those mentioned above, Dan was survived by a brother, John Doherty.
