James Dimmick
May 6, 1943-October 28, 2003

ORANGE CITY - James Marvin Dimmick, 60, of Orange City, Iowa, formerly of Hawarden, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003 at Orange City Hospital.

Services were Friday, Oct. 31 at the United Methodist Church in Hawarden with the Rev. Tim Walker officiating. Burial was at Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden, under the direction of Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden.

James Dimmick, son of Glen and Gladys (Johnson) Dimmick, was born May 6,1943 in Hawarden, Iowa. He graduated from West Sioux
High School in Hawarden in 1963 and then worked at L.G. Everist. He married Dorothy Patrick on June 17, 1963 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove, Iowa where James was an over the road truck driver. He later moved to Texas, South Dakota and to Orange City, five years ago, where he was employed at Russell's Ready Mix. He enjoyed Harley-Davidson motorcycles, wood crafting and drawing.

Survivors include a son, Stacy of Faribault, Minn.; two daughters, Danna and Jerry Bohy of Eagle Grove, and Shanna and David Meegan of Omaha, Neb.; 10 grandchildren; five great¬grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Deb Willems of Orange City; a brother, Raymond and Mary Dimmick of Mitchell, S. D.; and two sisters, Diane and Larry Peters of Flandreau, S. D. and Kathy and Ron Barnes of Hawarden.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby Dimmick, Stanley Dimmick and Tommy Dimmick.
