Dimmick Rites Are Held Here

Funeral Services Held Sunday Afternoon for Mrs. C. A. Dimmick Who Died Last Thursday Morning

Funeral services for Mrs. C. A. Dimmick, who died in the Hawarden hospital last Thursday morning, were held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church, with Rev, Milton Schaper, the pastor, officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery.

Martha Holland, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Holland, was born in the state of Kansas March 23, 1878. She married Curtis Dimmick at Tekamah, Neb. December 14, 1898, and they located on a farm. The family circle of 10 sons and daughters was never complete as three children died in infancy.

In 1936 Mr. and Mrs. Dimmick and family came to this vicinity, locating on a farm south of Hawarden. Upon retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Dimmick remained on the farm, making their home with their youngest son, Glenn Dimmick, and family.

Survivors beside the husband are two daughters, Mrs. Glenn De Wall of Alcester and Mrs. Gladys Rich of Hawarden; five sons, Guy, Le Roy and Glenn of Hawarden, Elmer of Elk Point and Clifford of Akron and 19 grandchildren.

Mrs. Dimmick had been a patient in the Hawarden hospital a few days, being there for observation and treatment. Her death came suddenly while preparations were underway for surgery.

She united with the Methodist church when a young girl.

Out of town relatives at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Scott and son and Mrs. Stanley Kluver of Lake Crystal, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Skorunke, Mr, and Mrs. Harold Belt and C. P. Dimmick of Sioux City, Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Belt of Humboldt, Doug Dimmick of Macy, Neb., Mr. and Mrs. Herb Swaggert of Eldora, Iowa, Mrs. Jack Dickinson of Iowa Falls, Mrs. Maggie Rhodes and Iva of Zeiring, Iowa, and Mrs. Dora Welch of St. Anthony, Iowa.
