Funeral services were held at Orange City Tuesday afternoon for Floris Tiemersma, 94, former Sioux Center resident, who passed away at Orange City Saturday.

Rites were conducted by the Rev. Harlan Roelofs, pastor of the Second Christian Reformed Church and burial was made in the Orange City Cemetery.

Tiemersma resided in Sioux Center for a number of years after coming to America in 1893 from Friesland, The Netherlands, where he was born February 3, 1865, and where he grew to manhood and married Willemina.

After leaving Sioux Center the family lived on farms in the Hull, North Dakota, vicinity and later at Bemis, South Dakota before they moved back to Sioux County and located on an acreage near Orange City.

Mrs. Tiemersma passed away seven years ago after which Mr. Tiemersma lived with his daughter, Mrs. Bert Vander Brake and her family.

Survivors besides his daughter include two sons, Harry of Artesia, California and Isaac of Grand Rapids, Michigan. There are 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter and one son who died in infancy and a son, Marion, who passed away in 1933 while serving as an army enlistee at Fort Snelling, Minnesota
