Mrs. Ivar Twedt, 75,of Canton, a pioneer of the Hudson vicinity, died Thursday, December 27 at her home. She was ill but one day following a heart attack.

Mrs. Twedt was a sister-in-law of Mrs. Chris Nelson of Hawarden.

Funeral services were held at the Lutheran Church at Moe on Monday afternoon. Mrs. Chris Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Nelson, Mrs. Henry Holmdal and Mrs. Lloyd Lundeen of Hawarden attending the service.

Lena Lockness was born September 2, 1876, at Bergin, Norway. She came to America at the age of 16,locating at Hudson.

She was married to Ivar Twedt March 9, 1899. For 43 years they lived on the same farm near Hudson, but for the past nine years she lived at Canton. Mr. and Mrs. Twedt celebrated their golden wedding in 1949.She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church.

She is survived by the widower; four sons, Elvord of Canton, Floyd of Hudson, Paul of Ottumwa, Lester of Chicago; one daughter, Mrs. Nels Westergard of Sioux Falls and nine grandchildren. One son, Capt. Harley Twedt, was accidentally shot in England during World War II
