Bess Uden, 85, of Boyden died Friday, March 25, in a hospital in Sheldon.

Services were at 10:30am Tuesday, March 29, at Lyon County First Presbyterian Church of Rural George with Pastor Randall Richmond officiating. Burial was in East Lawn Cemetery at Sheldon.

Born Bess Mstbergen on January 12, 1903, at Sheldon, she lived her youth and attended school there. She married Marvin Uden February 4, 1923, in Sioux City. The couple farmed and later moved to California where they lived until 1971 when they returned to farm near Boyden. Her husband died in 1977.

Survivors include two grandsons, Dale Uden of Island Lake, Illinois, and Jerry Uden of Marietta, Georgia; a granddaughter, Betsy Tanner of San Marcos, California; and four great-grandchildren.
