Floyd Vande Griend, 82, of Hull died Friday, November 19, at Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull.

Memorial services were at 10:30am, Monday, November 22, at First Christian Reformed in Hull with the Rev. Roger Bouwman officiating. Burial was in Hope Cemetery, Hull.

Vande Griend was born January 16, 1911, at Hull, the son of Henry and Johanna (Vander Stoep) Vande Griend. He married Nelvia Lillian Kosters at Hull on July 8, 1932. The couple farmed at Hull until 1962, when they moved into town. He became a resident of Pleasant Acres in March 1989.

He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church. In earlier years, he was a member of Middleburg Christian Reformed Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Jerace and Clarice of Hull; four daughters and their husbands, joyce and Pete Mesman of Husdonville, Michigan, Lyla and Donald Boer of Boyden, Myrna and Henry Koning of Grandville, Michigan, and Veralyn and Merlin Plender of Denver; a brother, Andrew of Hull; a sister, Carrie De Roo of Brooten, Minnesota; 19 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.
