From the Sioux Center News, September 29, 1932:

Ireton Youth Dies of Typhoid

Evert Dierksen, son of Mrs. and Mrs. Herman Dierksen of Ireton died last Tuesday. He had been ill for a few weeks with typhoid and an intestinal trouble at the Sacred Heart Hospital, Le Mars, where he died. He was twenty-two years of age and is survived by his parents, one brother and five sisters.

The funeral services will be held in the Christian Reformed Church of Ireton on Friday afternoon.

Posters note: The death notice spells the last name Dierksen; however, his tombstone at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Ireton says: Son, Evert Dirksen, 1910-1932.

Evert's mother, Reintje (Hamstra) Dirksen, died about 3 weeks after Evert, also of typhoid.
