Maurice, Ia - Special: Funeral services for Mrs. Daniel Doherty, 85, well known Sioux county and Maurice resident, who died Sunday at a LeMars, Ia., hospital, were held on Wednesday a.m. at St. May's Catholic Church here.

Mrs. Doherty had suffered a hip fracture in a fall last week.

Mrs. Mary (Fitzpatrick) Doherty was born March 25, 1865, in Delaware county, Ia. She came to Sioux county in 1880 where she taught school several years. She was married to Dana (Daniel) Doherty here on September 23, 1896. The couple farmed near Maurice until 1930 when Mr. Doherty retired.

Survivors are the widower; a son, Murat M of Alton, Ia; three daughters, Mrs. Roy Deegan of LeMars, Mrs. E.H. Hensing of Omaha and Mrs. J.M. Coleman of Clare, Ia., and nine grandchildren.
