Alvina Dierks

Alvina Dierks, 88, of Rock Valley died Saturday, March 1, in a hospital in Rock Valley.

Services were 11 a.m. Tuesday in Peace Lutheran Church, rural Sioux Center. The Rev. Ron Nelson officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. visitation was held at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.

Mrs. Dierks, the former Alvina Tank, was born March 22, 1897, in Plato Township, Sioux County and attended rural school. She married Fred Dierks August 25, 1920, rural Sioux Center. They farmed south of Rock Valley until retiring in 1949. They lived on the homestead until 1979 when they moved to Rock Valley. He died April 10, 1985.

Mrs. Dierks was a member of ALCW and Esther Circle of Peace Lutheran Church, rural Study Club and Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include two daughters, Esther Mouw of Sioux Center and Evelyn Vander Velde of Rock Valley; three sisters, Emma Miller and Catherine Moeller, both of Rock Valley and Emilie Klein of Inwood; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
