Larry Van't Hof, age 37, of rural Alton, died Thursday, July 25, 1991 at Marian Health Center in Sioux City, of injuries received in a motorcycle accident.

Larry Keith was born May 2, 1954 at Orange City, the son of Lloyd James and Joan Lois (De Leeuw) Van't Hof. He was raised at Newkirk and graduated from Floyd Valley High School in 1973. He also attended Northwest Iowa Technical College.

On Feb. 5, 1975 he married Cheryl Beth Alons at Hospers, Except for two years in Orange City, they have lived at Newkirk.

He had been employed by DaMar Implement in Orange City and OK One Stop Service in Hospers. He also farmed. Since October of 1990, he has bee a machinist at Clark Engineering in LeMars.

Larry was a member of the Newkirk Reformed Church where he had taught catechism classes. He was also an EMT with the Hospers Rescue Squad and had been involved in 4-H.

Survivors include his wife "Cheri" four children, James, Heidi, Bryant and Cassandra, all at home; his mother, Joan of Orange City; grandmothers, Henrietta De Leeuw and Margaret Van't Hof both of Orange City; a brother, Lyle of Monterey, Calif; and a sister, Mrs. Terry (Cheryl) Heronemus of Hospers.

He was preceded in death by his father, a grandmother and two grandfathers.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 29, 1991 at the Newkirk Reformed Church with the Rev. Kevin VerHoeven officiating. Internment followed at the Newkirk Cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.
