Louis Van't Hof,, age 84, of Orange City, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the Orange City Municipal Nursing Home.

Louis was born Oct. 27, 1903 at Orange City, the son of Louis Van't Hof and Allie Klein Van't Hof.

On Feb. 10, 1927, he married Johanna Stander at Orange City. They farmed in the Alton-Newkirk area. In 1955 they moved into Orange City. "Lou" continued to farm and also was a carpenter. On March 10, 1967 Mrs. Van't Hof passed away at Orange City.

On Feb. 1, 1968 he married Margaret Muilenburg Oolman at Orange City. In March of this year he became a resident of the nursing home.

He was a member of the First Reformed Church of Orange City where he had served on the consistory as a deacon.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Ronald Van't Hof and his wife Sharon of Hospers; daughters-in-law, Joan Van't Hof of Orange City and Emogene Raak of Hospers; step-sons, Orville Oolman and his wife Arlene of Orange City, and Stanley and his wife Retha of Paullina; step-daughter-in-law, Luetta Oolman of Orange City; 24 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and brothers and sisters, Arta Hofmeyer of Orange City, Dr. Albert Van't Hof of Grand Rapids, Mich., Bernard Van't Hof of Sioux Center and Harriet Wierda of Alton.

In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by sons, Lloyd and Kenneth Van't Hof; Stepson Glenn Oolman; grandson, Daniel Lee Van't Hof, and brothers, Gerrit, William and Henry Van't Hof.

Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 7 at the First Reformed Church with the Revs. Henry Poppen and Ralph Ten Clay officiating. Internment followed at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City under the direction of Van-Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.
