Dick Top, age 64, died Thursday evening at St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City following a lingering illness.

Services were held Monday, at Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. John T. Ebbers officiated. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery under direction of the Van Gelder Funeral Home.

Mr. Top was born May 4, 1922 at Ireton. He married Grace Rozeboom November 29, 1945, at Orange City. Most of his life was spent in Orange City where he operated an independent salvage business until retiring two years ago. He had been a resident of the Cherokee Villa Nursing Home for the last two years.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Calvary Christian Reformed Church.

Survivors include his wife, Grace; six sons, Elwin and Marlo Top, of Orange City; Martin of Alton, Delbert of Sioux City, Terry and Richard, both of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Gladys Bales of Nampa, Idaho; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Swets of Victorville, California and Mrs. katherine Bales of Englewood, Colo., and a brother, John Top of Sioux Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lambert and a sister, Tracy.
