Ruben Topete, 10, of Hawarden died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be 2pm Thursday at the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden with Rev. Lyndon Ruyter of Friendship Assembly of God Church in Hawarden and Rev. Miguel Ybarra of Templo Glorioso Amanecer Church in Sioux City officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery at Hawarden.

Ruben Topete was born April 20, 1993 to Leoncio and Elena Topete in Mexico. He currently was attending 4th grade at West Sioux Elementary School.

He is survived by his parents, Leoncio and Elena; three brothers, Jorge, Jose Alonzo and Jesus Eusebio; five sisters, Arminda Rodriguez, Sonia Topete, Jessica Araceli, Maria Concepcion and Maria Reynalda Topete; his maternal grandparents, Abram and Celia; and numerous nephews and nieces.
