Funeral services were held for Mrs. Gertie Van Tol, 86, of Doon, Monday, November 27, at the Christian Reformed Church of Doon with Rev. John Elenbaas officiating.

Burial was held in the Doon cemetery under the direction of Vander Ploeg's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Van Tol passed away Thursday, November 23, at the Sioux Center Community hospital.

She was born October 1, 1875, in The Netherlands and came to America at the age of 16. On February 9, 1900, she was united in marriage to Leendert Van Tol at Sioux Center. He preceded her death June 25, 1952.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Della Lems of Doon, Gertie (Mrs. Albert Van Bemmel) of Doon, Helen (Mrs. Henry Faber) of Steen, Minn., Katherine (Mrs. Neal Groendyke)of Sanborn, Grace (mrs. Ike Steensma) of Luverne, Minn., four sons, Henry of Doon, Cornie of Grand Rapids, Mich., Mynard of Sanborn and William of Ripon, Calif.; 28 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Also surviving are sisters, Mrs. Henry Kroon of Sioux Center and Mrs. Kate Van Roekel of Hawarden, and one brother, Henry Van Roekel of Sioux Center. Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
