From the Hawarden Independent, September 20, 1917:

Mrs. David Dagleish died last Sunday evening at the home of her son, H.B. Dagleish. The deceased was born in Scotland January 24, 1837. She sailed for Canada when three years old. Her mother died while crossing the ocean. Her maiden name was Sarah Holmes. In the year 1862 she was united in marriage with David Dagleish. To them were born three sons and two daughters. Three are still living to mourn her death: A. G. Dagleish of Keating, Ore.; Mrs. Anna Tolman of Solvang, California; and H. B. Dagleish of Chatsworth, where she resided at the time of her death. She was a devoted wife and mother, also has been a devoted worker in the church all her life, until about 4 years ago when her health failed her. She lived in Rock Rapids, Iowa, from 1878 until about the year 1913. She will be greatly missed by those who remain to care for her. The remains were entered in the Rock Rapids cemetery by the side of her husband.
