Fred Brouwer

Fred W. Brouwer, 87, of Inwood died Friday, March 11, in a Canton, S.D.. hospital after a long illness.

Services were at 2 p.m. Monday, March 14, at the New Life Assembly of God Church in Inwood. The Rev. Terry A. Poe officiated. Burial was in the Richland Cemetery at Inwood. under the direction of the Porter Funeral Home in Inwood.

Mr. Brouwer was born Oct. 19. 1895, in Sioux County. Iowa. He married Cornelia Van De Kieft Jan. 2, 1924, in Rock Rapids.

They farmed in the Doon area and he later was a part owner of an automobile repair shop in Rock Valley. He began farming in the Inwood area in 1948.

Mrs. Brouwer died on Jan. 11, 1983.

Survivors include two sons, Marion of Inwood and Wilber of Mineral Wells, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. John (Annie) Herrmann of Canton and Mrs. Walter (Josena) Egdorf of Sanborn; one sister, Mrs. Henry (Gertrude) Kosters of Rock Valley; 19 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
