Tillie Bronkhorst

Tillie Bronkhorst, 93, of Orange City died Fri., Jan. 17, 1997, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

Services were at 2 p.m., Sat., Jan. 18, at the First Reformed Church at Orange City, with the Rev. Steven Vander Molen officiating. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery at Orange City. Visitation was after 2 p.m.. Sun.. Jan. 19, with the family present from 2 to .3:30 p.m., at the VanEtten-Oolman-VanGelder Funeral Home in Orange City.

Mrs. Bronkhorst was born Nov. 11, 1903, at Lunteren, Netherlands, to Dirk and Antonia (Bos) Van Harselaars. She married Gerrit Bronkhorst on July 29, 1923, at the Netherlands. During World War II, they worked for the underground. In 1947, they immigrated to America, settling in the Hudson-Fairview area. They moved to Orange City in 1952. He died in May of 1970 at Orange City. In 1994, she became a resident of the Heritage House Nursing Home at Orange City.

She was a member of the First Reformed Church, where she belonged to a circle.

Survivors include three daughters, Willy Leeuwis of the Netherlands, Antonia and her husband Henry Van De Stroet of Rock Valley, and Henrietta and her husband, Ken Van Geldcr of Ireton; 12 grandchildren; 19 great¬grandchildren; a brother and his wife, Berend and Metje Van Harselaar; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Dick; three brothers; and two sisters.
