Jeremy P. Davenport, age 20, of Granville, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital, of injuries received in a traffic accident near Hospers.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 2, at 10 A. M., at the Northwestern College Christ Chapel in Orange City. The Rev. Russell Westbook and the Rev. J. R. Henderson officiated. Burial followed at the Hospers Cemetery under the direction of the Oolman Funeral Home, Orange City.
Jeremy Paul was born May 21, 1983, in Englewood, Colorado, the son of Paul Michael and Carolyn Ann (Rosendale) Davenport. He was raised in Colorado until 1997, when he and his family moved to rural Granville.
He graduated from the MOC-Floyd Valley High School in Orange City in 2001. He was currently attending Northwestern College, where he would have been a junior this fall, majoring in business.
In high school, Jeremy participated in the Pride of the Dutchmen Band and wrestling. He enjoyed computer games and paintball wars, and he loved animals.
He was a member of the Archer Reformed Church, where he attended Sunday school and played in their softball league. He was employed at Noteboom Oil and Taco John’s, both in Orange City, and at Village Northwest in Sheldon.
Survivors include his parents, Paul and Carolyn, and a brother, John, all of Granville; grandparents, Vernon and Margaret Rosendale of Granville; Louise Davenport of Denver, Colorado; and Dwayne and Vivian Davenport of Denver; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Memorials are being directed to the Jeremy Davenport Memorial Fund at the Iowa State Bank in Orange City.
