Adrianna Ten Kley, 90, Sheldon, died Tuesday, May 31, at Fieldcrest Assisted Living Facility in Sheldon.

Services were held Friday, June 3, at Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon, with the Rev. Brian Keepers officiating. Burial was at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon.

Adrianna Ten Kley, daughter of Ben and Elizabeth (Van Rooyan) Hyink, was born June 7, 1914, in Newkirk. She received her education in country schools near Newkirk and graduated from Sheldon High School in 1932. She married Dick Ten Kley Jr. on March 10, 1938, in Sheldon. They farmed in the Sheldon area. She worked in retail for several downtown businesses, and for Sheldon Drape and Blinds before retiring. Mr. Ten Kley died November 2, 1998, in Sheldon. She remained in the family home until moving into the Christian Retirement Home in Sheldon. She moved into Fieldcrest Assisted Living in Sheldon in 2003.

She was a charter member of Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon, where she participated as a Sunday School and Bible School teacher. She was the librarian and had been a member of the choir and other special music groups. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and any and all crafts. She was an active volunteer at Oak Park Care Center.

Survivors include three daughters, Shirley and Ed Peterson of Alta, Eleanor Twaddle of Staples, Minnesota, and Doris and Dennis Kreykes of Sheldon; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ben and Ruth Hyink of Lynden, Washington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Ten Kley Jr.; two sons, Gary Ten Kley and Dwayne Ten Kley; a son-in-law; four brothers; and four sisters.
