Pam Brooke

Pamela Lynn (Vonk) Brooke, 49, of Sioux Center died Sunday, July 25, in Rochester, Minnesota.

Services were at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rock Valley with the Rev. Doug Klein officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center.

Mrs. Brooke was born July 18, 1955, to Peter and Donna (De Leeuw) Vonk in Olympia, Washington. In 1957, she moved to a farm west of Sioux Center with her family. She attended Sioux Center Community School and graduated in 1974. She attended Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City for one year. She had worked for Groschopp and K-Products in Sioux Center and Hawarden. She had completed more than 25 years of service with American Identity (formerly K-Products) in February 2004, when she became ill. She also worked at Hardee's in Sioux Center for six years during the evening and weekend hours. She married Francis "Bud" Brooke on April 30, 1983.

She was a founding member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Sioux Center and served on the Church Council as well as being a catechism teacher. She enjoyed watching Kansas University basketball, attending NHRA Drag Races and the National Sprint Car Races at Knoxville. She took great pride in her flowers and yard at her home as well as her collection of Precious Moments figurines.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Jackie of Rock Valley; two stepdaughters, Patricia Brooke of Kansas City, Missouri, and Kim Brooke of Mayetta, Kansas; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; her parents, of Sioux Center; a sister, Brenda (Rick) Dolieslager); two brothers, Warren (Sandi) Vonk and Daniel Vonk, all of Sioux Center; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a nephew, Jason Dolieslager.
