Allen J. Brouwer, 38, of Austin, Minn. formerly of Hull, died February 27 in a hospital at Rochester, Minn. after a long illness.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. March 3 in the First Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev. Gerald Vander Velde officiated. Burial was in the Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Brouwer was born May 5, 1943, in Hull. He attended Georgia Southwestern College in Americus, Ga. He moved to Austin where he was a clerk for the Milwaukee Railroad until 1975, when he became ill.
He married Barbara Fanton Jan. 11, 1972, in Hull.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam conflict and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Austin.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jeffery and Craig, both of Americus; his mother, Mrs. Willis (Henrietta) Brouwer of Hull; a brother, Wilson, of Raymond, Minn., a sister, Mrs. Larry (Mary)Vis of Rock valley; three stepsons, Dana of Lexington, Ky., Jeffrey of Minneapolis and Michael Fanton of Austin; three stepdaughters, Ms. Marcia Pugh of Colorado Springs, Colo., Ms. Karen Fanton of Minneapolis, and Miss Alyssa Fanton of Austin, and five step grandchildren.
