Bernard Doherty, 67, 324 S. Eddy St., Fort Scott, Kansas, died April 7, 1983, at St Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Mo. Mr. Doherty had retired as vice president of Mid-Continental Restoration Co.
He was born Aug. 31, 1915, at Rock Valley Iowa, the son of Edward and Anna Weisensee Doherty. He married Delores Walker, May 10, 1941, at Sioux Falls, S.D. Mr. Doherty was a member of Mary Queen of Angels Church, Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship, Knight of Columbus, United Commercial Travelers and Alcoholics Anonymous, Fort Scott, Kansas.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, Brian and Steve Doherty, both at home, Don of Fort Scott, Ed of Dallas, Texas, and Dan of Nevada, Mo.; six daughters, Denise and Michelle both at home, Margaret Humphrey of Fort Scott, Judy Maura of Nassau, the Bahamas, Darlene of New Orleans, La., and Barbara Woodward of Van Clave, Miss; one brother, Frank J.; and 17 grandchildren.
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 10, at the Konantz Funeral Home with the Rev. Leo Kerschen officiating.
Requiem Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, April 11, at Mary Queen of Angels Church with the Father Kerschen and the Rev.Wilfred Flanery officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
